All blue

Hello all.I am delighted to be able to blog tonight,we must have had one of the wildest days ever.The wind was brutal and non stop,thankfully it seems to have calmed down for now.This photo was taken with my phone and I don't think it came out too bad,This was made at on siopa bui ages ago and was probably one of the first easel cards I made.I love all the blue and was happy with it{I think it was a hero arts stamp}.goodnight.........philomena

Long day

Hello all,well it has been a long day that started at 6.30 this morning{no matter what I did there was no sleep after that}I am now waiting to go and collect hubby from the local,such a bad night.I seen Sue Wilson making this type of frame on one of her spellbinders shows on c&c.Very easy to do and I think that this one will be a standard wedding card for me now.I was trying to use up gem strips for the swirls,they didn't turn out that good and when I tried to get them up the pearl card was coming too so I left them alone.Just got a call he has a lift home so I can go to bed.Goodnight...............philomena

Baby booties

Hello.I got the template for these booties out of a book called paper sculpt sensation by Marion Elliot,and I taught them at a class at An Siopa Bui earlier in the year.They are so easy to make and I made the box myself with an acetate lid.thats all for now...........philomena

2nd ribbon card

Hi again,this is the 2nd card from my class and I think its my favorite.Actually its the ribbon I love and its so simple to do,needle and thread and a few zig zag stiches and your there.Sorry about the poor quality photo,the light was not the best when I actually thought about the cards.............philomena

Ribbonmania

Hello all.If you are wondering what ribbonmania is,it's the name of the class i taught last weekend.I promised that i would put the photos up.This

ribbon was the result of a mistake,I was trying to dye organza ribbon [ended up with red fingers]and then I had to dry it and the heat gun melted the ribbon.I have to say that it was a light bulb moment and I've been melting since.This will not work with satin ribbon,it goes black and burns[I tried}.I had to leave the card plain because it was the technique I wanted.Hope you like it...........philomena

Football

Hi, say nothing. I know its a shock 2 days in a row,ha ha. I was asked to make a few football cards,and they had to be different as they were going to the same house.This is my football which I love,I hand cut the hexagons from a stencil{have now bought nesties for this}The trophy and whistle are from the football solutions cricut.I have made this a few times now and it always sells.Just to let you know we had snow here in the west today,rain too.whats new........philomena

young love

I nearly forget how to do this,its been so long.My problem is i forget to take photos of my cards before I give them away.Anywayyyyyyyyyyyy I was trying out a few things on this card,I stamped with distress ink on watercolour paper and just blended here and there with a water brush.I have been playing with my nesties and left this one on the card and inked the edge {all with the same ink}I'm happy with it.that's all folks..........philomena

Hello all.I know,I know ,all my talk about doing this more often went up in thin air.I'm afraid that life gets in the way.Was at a craft fair today and am tired,I have to say that it was very quiet.I love how this card came out{made a set of them}I used one 12 x 12 and got 9 butterflies out of it,so I made 9 cards.The butterfly die is lovely and I cut 2 and layered them.Time to go..........philomena

Baby Giraffe

Hello all,I am trying to get on here every few days and to tell you the truth I forget a lot of the time.I just love this image,it is a whiff of joy stamp and I was looking at it in an siopa bui for weeks before it got me{not the other way around}.I coloured him with copic's twice and 3'd his hat,head and waistcoat.I think he came out really cute.I'm not too sure he would look good in a pink waistcoat for a baby girl card,will have to try it...............philomena

Shoe card

I have had the template for this shoe for years and this I would say is the 2nd shoe that I have made.It really came out lovely,if I do say so myself. All I have to do now is make a box for it as it will not fit in a envelope............philomena

Fancy shoes

Hello,have just taken a break for lunch,I am in the middle of my veg garden putting up wire for my peas.

I'm not too sure if I like this card,it's a little bit too busy I think.It was made in a mad rush and out came my cricut,I just love the shoes and at the moment I can not remember which cart they came from.I have decided that I will show card's that I'm not too sure about as well as the one's that I like.Back to the garden for me............philomena

Hello Kitty

Hi.I just love this card and am really happy that I gave in and bought the Hello Kitty cart, all i did was cut and stick.I had to add bling,{if you see kitty in the shops,she always has bling}.This just fit in an a5 envelope,so was a fairly decent card.We still have lovely weather in the west of Ireland{long may it last}.My veg garden is preening from all the attention its getting and I have to say I'm enjoying it too.I wonder if the volcanic ash will fall here,do not like the sound of that.It has the whole of Europe in a tizzy and not a thing can be done to stop it.I'm off to garden........Philomena

Hello all, today was a lovely day.sunshine all day long,was nice to be outside.I was asked to make a few cards suitable for young boys who are football mad.This is one of them and I love it,all I did was cut out a circle cardand then i handcut the hexagons.The whistle and trophy are cut from a cricut cart.{can not remember the name of it }.......philomena

The sun is shining here in galway today for a change,clothes are drying on the line{I hope}and I am sitting at my computer.I should be outside in the garden but my back is playing up so I decided to blog.Will have to push myself to stay at it this time. I love this sarah kay stamp,she is a real cutie.I had great fun colouring her in with pencil crayons and then blending with sansador.The ribbon I have had for years and thought I would never use,it matched the paper perfectly.Must go out to hang out more clothes............philomena

Hello friend

Hello,there were 8 images in this forever friends kit and they are lovely,there were a few sheets of backing papers as well.I have got to tell you that i do not use glitter{have a phobia about it.ha ha}just hate the mess,well i actually used it on a card voluntarily last night.I do use stickles,glitter pens and sakura pens so i still get a bit of shine in there and i think Christmas cards need a bit of bling......philomena
