Hello,there were 8 images in this forever friends kit and they are lovely,there were a few sheets of backing papers as well.I have got to tell you that i do not use glitter{have a phobia about it.ha ha}just hate the mess,well i actually used it on a card voluntarily last night.I do use stickles,glitter pens and sakura pens so i still get a bit of shine in there and i think Christmas cards need a bit of bling......philomena

Side step card

I think that is what this card is called,well that's my name for it anyway.It is fairly easy to do,just measure carefully and you have it.I have had these bows for years and did not know if three was a bit too much but in real life they look good.Lately I have been using stash that i have been looking at for years and not wanting to use in case I could not get it again,well i decided that was silly so I'm having a bit of fun and clearing a bit of space.........philomena

Christmas decoration

Morning all.This is a Christmas decoration that I made for a demo day at an siopa bui ages ago and i really like it,the main image is from a red hot bed sheet.I wanted to make something that was not a card{does that make sense}.Anyway this is what i ended up with,the edge is a spellbinder pendant set and they just fitted around the edge,I added a few pearls to the tips of the border to finish it off.........philomena

Acetate card

Do you all know how hard it is to take a photo of an acetate card.This decoupage image is one of my favorites,I put the main image on the inside and the layers on the outside and it looks fab if i do say so myself............philomena

Hello,I know that it has been ages since I posted anything but I lost it a bit after loosing all my photos.That does not mean that I have been idle,nearly all of my Christmas cards are made and I'm going to show some of them.I collect snowmen and have built up quite a nice array of Christmas deco's,so it was only natural that i gather a few snowman stamps.I stamped these fellas out 5 times on an a4 sheet and coloured all of them different colours{green,red, blue,purple,pink}and here is the first one,I love how it turned out,they were coloured with copic markers{I am getting used to these}and all of the layers were cut with nesties..............philomena

All gone

Hello all.Sorry it has been so long since i was here but my computer decided to go belly up and I'm sorry to say that i lost everything.My photos are all gone{never got around to backing things up}I had hundreds of photos of my cards and all my family ones are gone as well.When i got it sorted out and went online guess what!!!!my blog was still there,still have to sort out my e-mail........oh no just realised i have lost all e-mail addresses.Not a lot i can do about it now..........philomena

Hi all.I had great fun colouring in this little one,trying to get my head around the technique of colouring with pencils and sansador.

Have to keep chanting to myself to leave a white space in the center of the bits and pieces of the stamp.This was a class that Linda Dawson taught at an siopa bui,and i have been colouring like mad since.Please excuse the photo I have just realised that it is sideways,but you get the idea............philomena

Nappy card

Hi all.This baby card was made using the baby glitter girls board,Fiona started us of with this board because i was just looking at it and coming up blank{Thanks Fiona}.Will show the first one i made tomorrow,i paper pieced the gigham blue to give a bit of dimension and I'm very happy with it,all i have to do now is make an insert to cover the embossing lines.Another grotty day in the west of Ireland but what else is new.Have you all seen the class lists for the GBCE,they look good and i have picked out the ones i want to do,Roll on September!!!!!!!!!!philomena

New Pendants

Hello all,I have been missing for the last while,not enough hours in the day to make cards but now that the weather is so awful i got a chance to play.Had to tidy up a bit in my room first{can not call it my studio,what should i call it}.This is the first card i made with the new pendant dies,now i have to say it felt weird to make a Christmas card in august but that is what it turned out to be and i love it.Now these are not as easy as nesties because you have to poke out all the bits from the die but wow are they fab,I'm want to get a few more made tonight and i promise i wont be gone so long again{at least not until lambing next year}........philomena

google gone missing

Hi all,is it just me or has everyone had problems with google the last few days.I have been trying to post for the last 2 days but there was nothing there.I was getting online now and then,but there was no way i could get on to my blog.I know that a lot of the USA bloggers were having problems last week and they were blaming it on the followers bits and pieces{do not know what to call them}.I am here now and i hope it will last.Back to the cards from the last class i taught at an siopa bui,These are on the shop blog as well.Love this cute hedgehog and used a brayer to get the opposite image..............philomena

Advanced cards

Hello all.I taught an advanced card class at as siopa bui in spiddal last Sunday and I'm going to show you the cards over the next few days.This little girl is from a hero arts set,the shape of the card came from a mag but as i said on Sunday the rest came out of my head.This card had so many different parts to it so it took quiet a while to do.It is suppose to look like her wardrobe,the first panel was covered with alcohol inks and then the image was stamped with blending fluid.I think it looks like a lacquered finish you would see on Chinese furniture.The panel on the other side is her mirror and the center pieces have some of her spare clothes.I was delighted with how this card looked when finished.Have a nice day,I'm going up now to make a few cards..............philomena

Hi everyone,I have not had a chance to make a card in the last week,Been too busy trying to finish the house and enjoying the beautiful weather,oh my god is it not glorious.Am teaching an advanced card class at an siopa bui on Sunday and have to do the prep for that.So i will be back in a few days..............Philomena

Nearly there

That heading refers to the paint job on the house,all that is left to do is the white around the downstairs {20 windows,4 doors},and guess who got that job,annnnnnd it needs 2 coats.I'm going to be a basket case after all that,so i said i would start off my day trying to catch up on here.Was messing around last night while watching the last episode of ER{love that and am sad that its over,we figured out last night hat we have seen 99 percent of it all,that's fifteen years worth,SAD people}ha ha.Anyway back to my messing,i think i signed up to face book but I'm not too sure ill have to check after this.I actually don't think i will be able to keep up with a blog and that for the summer,maby i will try it properly in the winter.Here is the card that i made Kerry for her birthday,she is a real cutie,she is country girl from Sarah Kay,i got another one as well but have not tried her yet.That's all for now i better get started,nearly afraid to go outside i think the midges are out and i hate the little !!!!!!!!....................PHILOMENA

Hi all.Oh my God i have enjoyed the beautiful weather we have had,what would it be like if we had that, and actually had a summer.It was fabulous to hang clothes on the line and have them dry in an hour.Sorry I'm on my soapbox again.Have not made any cards this week but have been keeping a few to fill in when i got a chance.This was cut with the cricut and was so simple I like how it turned out.That's all for now.........philomena

Galway and Volvo ocean race

Hi all.No photos today just a few words about the dock area in galway,what a fantastic job ,so well organised,loads of food ,people were in good humour and it was great to see the boats.They are huge,when you see them on TV they look very narrow ,but they are massive,took a photo of the boat that matches my car{will show tomorrow}.Sharon Shannon was on stage last night and a few of the saw doctors joined her so it was very lively,and the rain stayed away which was a minor miracle{there were a few drops around nine}.Tried to take photos of the boats but it was too dark and am now trying to convince other half to go in again today so i can take more...........philomena

Christmas card

Good morning all.Forgot all about blogging yesterday,as we had the most glorious day here, it was warm and windy which meant no midges{horrible little !**!!*!**}.We had blazing sunshine here at 7.30 this morning then it got all cloudy and now the sun is trying to get out again.I know i go on about the weather a bit ,but we are so long looking at rain that any improvement on that will be talked about.Back to cards,I have made a few this week but have not had the chance to take photos yet.So back to the Christmas card that should have been up yesterday.I love this candle image and was very happy about this card.That's all for today,time i was outside.........philomena

Hi all ,I'm messing around with placing the photo's on here.These two photos were taken a few minutes apart ,same daylight but the pale pink just does not show very well.Now to tell you what these little fellas are,they are bookmarks and as cute as can be.I cut 2 large heart nesties and one smaller one,got a large paper clip and wrapped red line tape around the top ,got 2 large foam pads and stuck these on the upper part of one of the large hearts.Then stick the paper clip to the base heart and place one heart on top of the other,just stamp your image and colour it in.I read a lot{too much if you ask my other half}and never have a bookmark so now i have made a few different ones,will show the others again................philolmena

Birthday card

Hello all.I am still looking for that sunny day we were told we were going to have today,I hope you got it wherever you are but it has not hit us here in the west.I suppose you have all heard about the Volvo ocean race coming to galway,I hope to visit it sometime in the next two weeks,would be a shame to not go when it is on our doorstep.Just a small b-day card to show today.it was cut from a 12 x 3 piece of card stock,scored at 6 and gives a lovely little card.I seen this card on chic n scratch blog{would love to leave a link but do not know how to do that yet}.I know this image is a little bit fuzzy,i took loads of shots of this one and this one was the best ,i could not get rid of the glare.First i was taking photos and they were too dark and now too bright ,you just can not win ................philomena

PS.Had to make an envelope for this card as none i had would fit.

Flower pot card

Morning.Do you remember I said i was going to try the flower pot card i had seen on splitcoast,well this is my first. i will make more and play with all the flower cuts on the cricut cartridges.I always make a sample of fancy folds or a card that catches my eye and put it in my sample box that way i can make it whenever i want.I feel that this card is too plain but i just wanted to see how it was going to look,I'm daydreaming about putting these flowers through the cuttlebug folders to add dimension,maby i will get a chance to do that today.My sister has a fantastic tall decorative flower pot,its white with cerise flowers or swirls on it and it would look fab in a card ,i would have to make the pot longer .I was sure when we got up today the sun would be shining,no way it was pouring from the heavens,i think its nearly dry now ,I'm waiting to hang clothes on the line..................philomena

Christmas Cards

Hi all.Back to the Christmas cards again,I make about 70 cards every year and they are usually all different but as i came to the end of November last i was a little fed up with them and decided to make a few sets,i find this very hard to do as I'm not into repeating myself with cards.I got the use of this stamp of a friend and went mad with it ,I love this image and i don't have a clue who made it {will have to find out}.These cards were simple to put together,once i had picked my paper,i coloured in the images in to match,the base card was pearl card so there was a bit of bling on them.As you can see in the photos my table was a mess,usually is when im making christmas cards.I have had a talk with myself that i wont buy any christmas stash this year because i could make cards for the next 10 yrs and still have stuff left over {wonder will i stick to this}bye for now........philomena .....................................Edit....dont know what happened here with this big blank space at the end ,and i dont know how to fix it .....ps.

Hello Kitty

Was a lovely day here in the west,outside in the garden all day .I'm just in the door and I'm killed out{feels good to be this way from working } .I'm waiting for the kettle to boil for a lovely cup of tea.How do you like my kitty Kat,used Helen's hello kitty cart on Sunday in my bug and made this little lady,I think it turned out lovely,if i do say so myself.Not too sure if i should add something in the top right hand corner or not .It was raining on Sunday that's why i picked the umbrella image but there are loads of nice ones on this cart.I think i will have to invest in this one and am looking around for the cheapest place to get it.
I am going to have to get some help with my blogging,nearly drove myself nuts last night trying to add a link to another blog on mine,let me tell you the comp nearly went across the floor but i stopped myself in time.That's all folks,tea is on..............philomena

Lovely day

Spent a lovely day yesterday with a few friends making cards, it was great fun,did not get much done ,too much talking.Thought i would share this little sour cream container with you{i remember these from my childhood with fresh creme in them ,do not know where the sour came from} I first saw them on splitcoast and had to try them they are so easy,all you need is a rectangle of card,put tape on one short side and form into a tube,seal one end,put in your gift and seal the other end the opposite way.I put the ends through the crimper and it looks fantastic.This one was filled with make up for my niece........philomena

I know I have been missing,its been a very busy week around here.Lots of animals that have to be looked after,was in the veg garden Monday and Tuesday{yes it was lovely here for both days}and chasing animals for the rest of the week,too tired to make cards after all that.I was thinking of putting up last years Christmas cards,I have loads of photos of them,maby not the best photos but you will get the idea.I might do this once a week from now on because weather permitting i wont be inside to make cards.Here we go anyway with the Christmas cards.I love how this one came out,the base card was embossed in the big shot with a metal stencil and came out lovely,the image was stamped on to pearl card and has a fantastic sheen.I hope you like the Christmas cards...........philomena

Sympathy card

I actually don't mind making sympathy cards ,sometimes i think they are a lot easier than any other type of card.It is very a personal thing to do and i don't like them if they are too cluttered, I will make them any colour and the decoupage flower images are great,this one was a die cut that a friend bought for me and it was as fiddly as you could imagine {all those stems} .Am going to an siopa bui after a while for demo day,I'm bringing along my cricut to show it in action,so will head off soon...............philomena

More scallops

This is another of the scallop challenge cards i made,it is meant to look like a baby's bib.We are getting awful weather here in the west and its not very good for the newborns.Hope to get a few cards made today,there is a fabulous flower pot card doing the rounds on the USA blogs so I'm going to try that,it looks easy enough,will show the results.That's all for now the oven should be hot enough for the bread now,so off i go............philomena

Birthday card

Hi everyone. What a miserable day today and cold too,it seems like we are going backwards into winter instead of forward into summer.Got a few cards made yesterday,and spent a while playing with my cricut,oh my god that machine is fantastic. I have made a pact with myself to use it more often. I was asked to make a card for a 100 yr old and its not that easy, I bought the toppers for the bookatrix board but none of them seemed to be suitable. I had these images cut out of a book and the score lines for this card were on the back of the page,the large square folds over on to the center of the small ones to put into an envelope. It was very hard to take a photo of this card,no matter which way i twisted it i still got a shadow,this is the best one.Heading to an siopa bui for coffee morning tomorrow.That's all for now..................Philomena

No time

Hi all.No time to post here in animal kingdom,its all action if you are not chasing something then you are being asked to hold mares for the stallion {great fun for someone who is afraid of horses!!!}.No time to make cards,actually I'm lying there ,last week i got a few samples made for an advanced class at an siopa bui in June,but i can not show you those,come to the class!!!.What i will show you are a few of the cards i made for the scallop challenge on blog bui.Had great fun with these and the more i did the more i wanted to do.I have to say that the sheep is my favorite,I have seen lots of images being made with punched out shapes and nesties.It will be a great thank you card for a farmer.The teddy bear is a wrap card with 2 scallops being used,love this one as well.That's all i have time for today .................philomena

Anniversary card

Hi all.This is an anniversary card i made for my mom for friends of hers,i love this image,its suitable for any celebration .I made a box to match and this card is now framed and up on the wall.Been really busy around here,still lots of newborns around here{foals at the moment}.That's all for tonight, starting to fall asleep.....................philomena

Hello everybody.Wow got a chance to make a card late last night,it is so relaxing to sit and play.I have been checking out a few blogs in USA and paper piercing seems to be a big trend at the moment so I had to have a go,used the tools for parchment that I had,the double one is good for this,speeds it up a bit and you get even spacing between the holes.The embossing line on the nesties is a great guide and keeps you fairly straight.I am always wondering if my cards are good enough or if i should add something else to them,gave myself a talking to yesterday and said that i make cards for me and not to worry about what others think you should or shouldn't do.But i still hope you like them!!.I think if you click on the image you will get a close up.This card is is for passing the driving test and U PASSED is on the inside...............philomena ps.Was messing around trying to get my photo to move!!bad idea it has ended up fuzzy,I need blogging lessons.I know if you click on photo you will see a perfect image.

Lost it

I have just spent the last 20 minutes blabbing on here and have just lost it,can not find it anywhere.I was going to edit and pressed the edit html ,could not backtrack from that. so all gone..............Insert bad word here.Had told you all about my love of decoupage,how i started with the large framed pictures and still loved to sit on long winter evenings cutting away.Cutting everything short now time i was not here...........philomena.

Beautiful day

What a beautiful day,so lovely to feel the sun.I spent the day in my other addiction{the garden}I never want to see another onion set,i've just finished sowing 10 bags!!!I have had raised beds in my veg garden made out of railway sleepers,they are great for kneeling on but after all that sowing my knees are saying OUCH!!Back to the reason we are here.Got into my room{what do you call your stamping spot?studio is too fancy for me i think}for all of 20 mins last night then realised grey's anatomy was on at 9.30 can not miss that, so all i did was tidy.Heading up shortly ,want to make a few things that came to me while i was sowing all them onions.These 2 cards use the nesties to make a framed appeture and they look great,i think!!.............philomena
